Biography
Valeria De Berardinis was born in Italy. She's a production assistant.
After
receiving a degree in the History of Arts and Sciences with a thesis
on the history of contemporary photography, she furthered her studies
attending a photography course at “Cromatica Photo Agency” and
also with a high level training course in photo editing (at “Nuovi
Giornalismi - New Journalism” organizsd by Internazionale in
collaboration to Luiss Business School of Rome). She has worked
as an assistant at art galleries (Sala 1 – International Center for
Contemporary art in Rome) as well as at artist's studios (Oliviero
Rainaldi, Artist studios Pastificio Cerere in Rome. In
2010, she did an internship at Emergency, dealing with the management of
the photo archive and collaborating in projects of communication
related to photography.
In 2011, she started to work with Zona, as an assistant producer in photo
and video-documentary projects,such as the documentary Just
to Let You Know That I'm Alive or Felix's
Diary. In 2015 she worked on the project Uncut ( a webdocumentary and a short documentary on female genital mutilations ) as assistant producer and data resercher

UNCUT
UNCUT is a web-documentary on female genital mutilations (FGM), with a data journalism survey through Africa and Europe. It narrates stories of women in Kenya, Somaliland, Ethiopia, where FGM has been fought hard—and successfully.
Crossing The River
This interactive web documentary follows the struggle for life of four passionate female health professionels in Sub-Saharan Africa, where maternal mortality registers the highest rates in the world.
