Sweden and South Africa
Sara Assarsson is Sweden-based freelance journalist, with a special interest in covering humanitarian and social issues from around the world. An experienced reporter with a background in local and specialist press, Sara Assarsson writes for a variety of newspapers, magazines and newsletters in Scandinavia, as well as reports on for Swedish Public Radio.
Since 2010, Sara Assarsson has been reporting on development, health and education in sub-Saharan Africa, and written extensively on South African culture for various publications.
This project highlights various initiatives to tackle gender inequality, improve women’s health and reduce maternal mortality in three African countries.
