Biography
Gianluca Lazzolino is a freelance journalist and documentary producer from Italy, reporting from Africa, the Middle East, Russia, India and Central America. He has written and filmed on human rights and development issues for Italian and foreign media and worked for Italian NGOs in Italy and Latin America. He is currently finishing a PhD in African Studies at the University of Edinburgh. He believes that media and the academy can get along, as long as they use the right language to communicate.
