Davide Mancino



Davide Mancino, editor at datajournalism.it, holds a Master in Science Communication at the International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA). His works have appeared (among others) on Quartz, Wired Italy and L'Espresso. Data journalist and interactive designer, he is also a trainer for tools at the intersection of data science and reporting (Tableau, Mapbox/CartoDB, Quantum GIS, Illustrator, SVG/HTML/Javascript interactives). In 2013, he authored an investigation that revealed how Italy has been the first european commercial partner for Assad's Syria in arms dealing.

The project investigates, maps, analyses and visualises Italian mafias’ investments and money laundering practices in Africa, and how has this changed precarious African economies and impacted communities.
