Aaron Ross covers the Congo for Reuters out of Kinshasa. He was previously based in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, where he wrote about West African politics, economics, sports and just about everything else for the Economist. His work has also been published by New York Times, Associated Press, The Nation, Slate, Mother Jones, GlobalPost, The National and Rolling Stone Middle East. He was a Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting grantee in Madagascar in 2013–2014 to report on the effects of aid cuts following the country's 2009 coup d'etat.
