Volontari per lo Sviluppo is one of the most important magazines about cooperation and development in Italy, as well as international cooperation, sustainability, alternative economic models and the dynamics of integration. The magazine was founded in 1983 by an NGO called Comunità Impegno Servizio Volontariato (CISV) based in Turin, Italy. Today, over 60 NGOs are part of the Volontari per lo Sviluppo. It has evolved into a platform where news on development is shared, but it also gives a voice to networks of journalists in South America, Africa, Eastern Europe and Asia, with the goal of supporting press freedom in these regions. Volontari per lo Sviluppo also publishes books. After 25 years of publishing history, it abandoned paper, becoming a internet and social media news hub. VPS is the driving force behind ONG 2.0 (http://www.ong2zero.org/), the first platform in Italy covering news in the field of ICT in developing countries.
