Violence is a hidden plague. It has a major impact on public health, particularly in low-income countries. The traumatic experiences caused by violent conflicts mark people for life. The project investigates what impact violence has on mental health, on public health, and on the economic situation of an entire country. We want to choose countries such as Colombia, Mexico, Cambodia, and Sierra Leone as representative examples for the research, also to find out how violence could be effectively prevented.
